Miguel, Sarah, Rosa and I in a timer photo with Miguel running to get into the pic.

The coast near Rosa's hometown. The river flowing into the sea there is one of the only non-estuarial rivers in Galicia, due to a big drop in elevation very near to where I took the picture. It used to be a beautiful waterfall, but is now a hydroelectric dam. The price to pay for renewable power, I guess.

We toured a number of fishing ports, learned about the industry and how much of it is still indepent fishermen working with their wives to make it happen. This boat is full of pots used to catch crabs and lobster. Yum.

There was a board with an image of a camera - for lining up behind, for some sort of Japanese follow directions thing, or because you could end up at the bottom of the cliff (behind me taking pic) otherwise?

I think this was actually a window in a building at the top of some bit of stone. near a lighthouse, I believe.

Miguel and I playing inside of a very windy bit of cloud on top of a hill north and east of A Coruña.
zacshepherd posted a photo:
The cloud as it spills down from the hilltop where we were, towards the ocean. The water at the bottom was actually being blown up off of the surface.

Miguel and I talking about the Santiago de Compostela Cathedral. He's great with architecture, history and Spanish. I'm good at looking goofy in bright shirts.

It makes sense here, but I know in the States this would mean something else... just what I'm not sure

Sarah and I are living in this tent. I'm 31. But, it's a big tent and we get lots of fresh air.

We went on a walk up this hill, with a bit of scrambling and great weather. Looking down to one of the main lakes in Lake District National Park, and the longest lake in England, I was told.

The weather was only a bit rainy - this bit - but I was much happier than I look in this shot.

Back in her element, Sarah loved showing me around her stomping grounds.

One of the things I've been enjoying the most about being out of Africa is the food. We've been cooking all sorts - including roast chicken with stuffing, corn and steamed runner beans.

I burned many pages of paper as a volunteer, as it was the only way to dispose of it and was my idea of fun. Usually I did it over my pit latrine to control odor and bugs. This last time I was in Kombo, and used a stove and a smaller stick than I was used to - thus the grimace. Hard to remember being as hot as that by now.
