Ahh I can relax now....ok relaxing over. I have taken care of the near Visa disaster and turned in all of my pre-departure paperwork. Now I am focusing on finishing my packing and saying my goodbyes. My sisters are coming to visit from Texas and Oregon this weekend. Watch out Seattle...

Talked to SATO travel again today and they said they "misplaced" my visa file. How does that happen? When I talked to this lady the very first time, I could tell her head was up in the clouds. Of course this would happen. So I am waiting for them to again send me info to fill out my visa and hopefully it all works out. It takes 2.5 weeks to get the paperwork completed and we leave in 3 weeks. Thats cutting it close! I don't need disaster this right now. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Headquarters lost my visa application after it was confirmed 2 months ago. Add that to the huge stack of paperwork I will be doing today. Oh Joy! But its allllll worth it!

Ever since I was old enough to desire the ability to make a difference, I have dedicated much of my time to working with some tough kids in some tough situations. It wasn’t glamorous in the least, but I loved every bit of it. My passion is kids, crazy-curious-defiant kids, and my goal is to liberate our world’s youth. Along the way I hope to have some crazy adventures, gain new understandings and I especially look forward to making friends on this once in a lifetime experience. That is why I joined the Peace Corps.

Yesterday I went glass bowing in a real glass blowing studio. I made a pretty white with blue speckles ball. It was way more technical than it sounds. And in the morning, my friends and I are flying a Cessna to the coast to eat lunch, then return for burger night and margaritas with a bunch of our good friends. My life seems so exciting at the moment. I feel like I view my departure as my death. As if I have to check all these things off of my life list before its too late. I think that's my subconscious reaction to change. Not a terrible way to cope.Publish Post

So!!! Today is the day I have been dreading/looking forward to. It is time to transform from my blonde locks to whatever that color is that has been peeking out between foils. I don't see myself getting into the hair salon while working my butt off in Bulgaria so ALL NATURAL is the way to go.

What fun would this be without a before and after?!

Oh and dont forget about the MANDATORY H1N1 Shot. I understand from a medical standpoint why it is a good idea to have traveling peace corps members vaccinated. However, at the risk of sounding uptight, I do not like that I am forced to put something in my body. I have not gotten the H1N1 shot because I do not want it. Have you seen the YouTube video of the cheerleader who has to walk backwards to talk properly after the vacciene triggered a neurological disease in here. Um, ya not for me. But of course, I think the risk is worth the reward. If thats what it takes...

So I revealed my secret to my boss the other day. That I am leaving them in May to move to Bulgaria with the Peace Corps. Im pretty sure he thought I was lying at first. I mean, I dont really blame him.

May seems so soon yet so far. I absolutely cannot wait. But oh my god is there alot to get done before I leave. Errands, shopping, research and of course getting familiar with the language. Here we go....
