Ted Talks: John Hunter and the World Peace Game; 4th graders saving the world
This is a couple months late, I know. But since I am back in the land of reliable and fast internet, not to mention have been able to get my computer fixed since it has been broken for the last two months I can now post it. Enjoy, Group 32!

Dan has just made his 6-12 months in 60 seconds video. Since it is so good, and since we have shared many of these trips I thought I would share it. This also means that I am running behind and need to make my video commemorating my first year in Namibia as well.

A time-lapse video of the sun setting over the Kavango River with Angola on the right and Namibia on the left. This is my first attempt at this, so hopefully I will be able to do this for a more spectacular sunset in the future.
OK, this is quite possibly one of the coolest videos I have seen in quite some time. The idea is so simple and great that I am seriously jealous I didnt think of it first. But you should watch it and revel in how beautifully simple it is!

A Namibian landscape screaming by at 150 miles per hour. This photo is relevant today because I am en route to Windhoek for the next week for my Mid-Service Conference and our All-Volunteer Conference to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Peace Corps. So, this is kind of what i am looking at now.
I have a lot to write to talk about everything that has happened over the last month or so, but...
This is my class singing Happy Birthday to me in Rukwangali. It wasn’t a completely out-of-the-blue, nice gesture. I made the class cake and told them they could not have any until they sang for me!
Happy birthday to me! This was taken from a river cruise down the Kavango River that we went on to celebrate several July birthdays, including mine. 28 seems so old compared to 27.

One of my best photos from Namibia and I don’t think I have posted here already; though I know it’s on Facebook. This was taken in the area where they leach the various minerals from the water in order to make salt. The water changes color depending on the mineral being removed. Photo taken in Walvis Bay, Namibia.
Um, Paul McCartney in a Texas Tech jersey? What the what? Completely unrelated to the Peace Corps, but seriously, how could I not share this?

The sunsets in Namibia are turning more colorful as the air slowly fills with the smoke and dust that are hallmarks of the dry season. Some days the sun slips behind the cloud of dust that is so thick that it disappears completely.
I have just put several of the photos I have taken up for sale in my Etsy store, Images From Afar. Sorry, I have kind of been slacking in keeping that updated (it doesn’t help when it takes 40 minutes for the etsy.com to load here). Remember that if you do buy one it will not come with the logo, copyright, or watermark printed on it. Just the photo. All that stuff is just for my protection.
A photo of Stewart, another PCV near Rundu, white at the EWA conference a couple weeks back. On a bit of a related side-note, Stewart is the Editor of Izit which I previewed for you all yesterday.
A sneak peak of Izit, the magazine made by some of us Peace Corps Volunteers for all the other volunteers of Namibia. I have been busy working on designing this for several weeks now and it will be unveiled at our All Volunteer Conference later this month.
